About Us
The Detroit Metropolitan Democratic Club (DMDC) is a grassroots political organization. Our mission is to provide Democratic values in the metropolitan Detroit areas. The purpose of this club is to encourage and motivate citizens to get out and vote democratically, to address local issues and to assist in electing democratic candidates. Our objective is to work in alignment with the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP), the congressional districts and community leaders representing our communities.
Through remote monthly meetings, community forums and interviews we will embark a strategy of empowering the community from the ground up, advocating and working for changes with a real impact. DMDC will strive to enhance the efforts of other organizations by sharing their valuable efforts and the services they provide to our communities by working with them directly and ensuring individuals and families of our communities know and understand the resources they have before them.

Our mission is to learn, teach, educate and discuss relevant issues regarding the health, safety and well-being of the Greater Detroit Metropolitan area. Also, to find and offer solutions to help support our community by creating awareness through advocacy that empowers participants to become leaders to further help and serve the interest of the Democratic agenda.

Membership
DMDC consists of the Executive Board and general membership. Membership is open to any Wayne County resident who is interested in making Detroit and surrounding areas better communities.
Along with joining DMDC, we encourage all Wayne County residents to become members of the Democratic Party at the national, state and local levels. We also encourage members to become more engaged by becoming candidates for club offices, neighborhood precinct delegates, public offices and officers or delegates to the MDP or presidential delegation at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) national conventions.
Membership includes access to General Membership meetings, access to candidate campaign materials during election years, participation in setting the club’s agenda and planning club events, the ability to run for the Executive Board and join club committees and working groups and the irreplaceable feeling of being a more engaged member of the community
